So the long writing pauses have been caused by the amount of hand laundry you've been having to do?
Posted by David at June 3, 2004 11:07 AMHello David. Yes indeed. And there is still somebody out there. Wow.
Posted by robin at June 3, 2004 11:26 AMThe joy of RSS feeds you see, I just let my computer do all the getting-disappointed-at-no-new-content so I can be fresh to get excited when it pokes me in the ribs and goes "Look! That Robin bloke's posted summat new".
Welcome back :-)
Posted by Adrian at June 3, 2004 12:02 PMtake the washing machine and yourself to comet take it in the shop, cause a bloody fuss and refuse to move until something is done if it is still under guarantee you have a right as a consumer to have it replaced good luck
Posted by steve at June 3, 2004 01:30 PMHad the same problem with Comet .. Although I protested that our 2 month old tumble dryer should not need to be repaired so soon, I was told that under the terms of guarantee blah blah blah .. My argument was based on the fact that if it was repaired we would now be the proud owners of what was basically a `second hand machine` .. If I had wanted to own a second hand tumble dryer I could have bought one for a lot less money than I had given Comet.
Sorry to say Robin that it was only after things started to get heavy ( threats - bad language etc.) that things were resolved. One new machine and an apology from head office.
`The meek shall inherit the earth` .. I don`t think so
OMG, you are alive. wonderful piece - apart from the chocolate buttons, that is.
Posted by zed at June 4, 2004 08:52 PMWaste no time in pestering media consumer rights correspondents about this, and demanding to speak to the Call Centre's King Louie, rather than the first Phone Monkey you encounter. Make sure you tell them that you have been publicising your plight.
If that fails, making tea for the whole street sounds like a pretty cool thing to do.
