Ow. Poor Jake. Unless you have broken a finger, you can only imagine how painful that is. Guess what I did last year - only in my case I slammed my own car door on it!
I hope he's on the mend.
Looking forward to the next installment...

Posted by Saltation at May 15, 2009 11:46 PMHello Deirdre: you are so reliably nice. I wrote that piece a bit sozzled and a bit baffled. Things have moved on a bit since then. Basically I have to book t do before the end of August. Mad stuff.
Jake's finger is much better and he is practising making slapping 'cool' sounds with it.
Sal: I think - and not for the first time - that you are absolutely right.
Posted by robin at May 16, 2009 11:36 AMKids get over it quite fast but the pride he feels telling the tale will endure for ages.
Posted by mike at May 18, 2009 12:52 PMThank you Robin, you're very kind. And although I am glad to hear that you are busy, I do miss your posts.
Latest news from here is that the daughter was 17 on Sunday (she can do the 'cool' finger slapping thing too) and that tomorrow I am off to Hay to see Alan Bennett! Perhaps next year you will be on the Hay programme :)?
